Dimitsana and the Filiki Eteria

On the eve of 1821, Dimitsana figures—including Germanos of Old Patras, the Spiliotopoulos family and others—were inducted into the Filiki Eteria. Owing to its powder-making, the town is said to have been collectively aligned with the secret society.
