Philosofou Monastery, in the Lousios Gorge near Dimitsana, joins the 10th-century Old Monastery with the later monastic presence of the 17th century. The monastic tradition connects the foundation with Ioannis Lambardopoulos, known as “the Philosopher,” while later documents and memory place the monastery inside the wider sacred geography of the Lousios.
